Maiden City Sub-Aqua Club 2019

Who are we?

The Maiden City Sub-Aqua Club is affiliated to the internationally recognised Sub Aqua Association (SAA) and training is to a CMAS qualification.
The Club was formed in 1994 and is situated in Derry in the NW of Ireland. We are strategically placed on the threshold of County Donegal, a coastline which is littered with the wrecks of two World Wars and an abundance of plant and marine life. There are currently 30 members taken from a wide spectrum of professions and ages and each year we welcome completely inexperienced and experienced divers.

Could I Dive?

Maiden City Sub-Aqua Club
So for all you potential divers out there, the Maiden City Sub Aqua Club is an excellent way to learn to dive with the minimum of fuss and expense. We provide safe and affordable diving with a group that all have a love of the environment and a passion for scuba diving.
The Club branch system is guided by the SAA therefore everyone gets the benefit of receiving the training they require to whatever level they wish to achieve. All this at a pace to suit the individual. We actively encourage members to take part in related external courses and will help organise events as required.
The Club is based at Templemore Sports Complex in Derry and the Club training consists of one lecture followed by a pool session every Tuesday evening in the months October to April. We have a number of Instructors ranging from Assistant to Open Water. All members of the club are expected to purchase their own diving equipment and the Club has access to two RIBs. Diving usually takes place at weekends and more often during the long summer days. Remember with a little effort, commitment and the right training the average swimmer can easily achieve the necessary standards for safe and enjoyable diving.
